MARLEY & ME

Our Story

I'd only recently lost my beautiful girl Jodie on 5th January 2013 and was totally and utterly distraught; I had previously lost her brother, Jed in October 2010 and both of them had been by my side, through some of the best & worst times in my life.

I couldn't face the pain of losing another dog, so decided I needed a break and it would be me and my cats for a while. I managed to get through a few days without the pitter patter of dog paws on the floors, which I was actually quite proud of, I thought I would cave way sooner.

Jed and Jodie were both Dobermanns and as I absolutely love the breed, I knew I wanted to fill my heart and home with another one. I  was quietly browsing rescue sites, as you do and saw Marley. Well that was it, it was LOVE at first sight! He was aged 13 weeks old and had been dumped outside the rescue at just 9 weeks old; covered in fleas and ticks, totally malnourished and had rickets. He was being fostered by the most wonderful family who had turned him into such a healthy and happy puppy, it literally was a miracle and he not the same dog that I'd seen on the website.

Marley makes me laugh every minute of every day; with his funny little ways, his dobie smile, gorgeous goofy face, gangly legs, wagging broken tail, soppy ears, wet nose, glassy galaxy eyes, the smell of his ears and paws, the pure love in his eyes when he kisses you and the funny noises he makes doing it. The level of excitement he can't cope with when you come home and he can't find something quick enough to bring you. His hot breath on your arm when he's snuggled into you asleep and snoring his head off, and if you're lucky, not farting like a trooper! The hyper moments when he spins around and around with the devil in his eyes wanting to find mischief.

I'm a better person because and better dog trainer because of what has taught me;  he has given me the skills to understand other dogs better, including my poor girl Sascha, who is often on the sidelines as he has to be centre stage (dobie owners will totally get this), but I understand her more and am able to help her cope with his drama queen moments better. I work better with reactive dogs, anxious and nervous dogs, dogs who pull on the lead, dogs with high prey drive, misunderstood dogs, dogs from rescues and the list goes on because of Marley and from the skillset I learnt from Victoria and her amazing team.

Thank You Marley Moo for being You!

Our beautiful dogs are not with us for long enough, so lets make every day count.
